The Story of Dani

"Danielle is the proud namesake of her beloved grandparents, Mary and Danny Sipp, carrying their name and their legacy forward with every step she takes." Loved beyond measure

Danielle Sipp, known to everyone who loves her as Dani, is a leader, a thinker, and a warm, compassionate soul who believes intrinsically in justice for all people. She has always seen the world not just as it is, but as it could and should be.

That sense of justice is not abstract for Danielle. Growing up, she witnessed firsthand the inequities baked into city structures, the way access to resources, safe streets, parks, public transit, and opportunity are not distributed equally, and how communities of color so often bear the weight of those disparities. Rather than look away, she leaned in.

It was this deep, values-driven lens that led her to Urban Planning and Development, because she understood that the shape of a city is never accidental. Streets, zoning, transit lines, green space, these are all decisions made by people, and those decisions have profoundly shaped who thrives and who is left behind. Danielle chose this field to be in the room where those decisions are made, to be an agent of change for cities that have been systematically structured for inequity.

She is a young woman who speaks at rallies, asks hard questions in classrooms, earns national scholarships, and still makes everyone around her feel seen and valued. She is the apple of her mother's eye and we are forever proud.

In May 2024, Danielle received a letter from the United States Department of State informing her that she had been selected as a recipient of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, one of the most prestigious study abroad scholarships in the country.

The applicant pool was described as "highly competitive," making her selection an impressive and well-earned accomplishment. The scholarship funded her study abroad experience in South Korea, where she expanded her global perspective on urban planning and city design.

From Gary, Indiana to Seoul, South Korea, Dani is truly a citizen of the world. 🌏

Where to Stay

Hotel rates in Muncie during graduation weekend have tripled. We recommend Fishers, Indiana, about 45 minutes away, for much more affordable options.

Our Family's Plan

Dani's grandmother, mother, and aunt are staying in Fishers, Indiana. We highly recommend searching for accommodations there rather than Muncie.

Search "hotels in Fishers, Indiana" on Google, Hotels.com, or Booking.com. Book soon, graduation weekend fills up fast!

After the Ceremony

The ceremony wraps up around 6:00 PM EST. After photos on campus, we will be heading to Fishers for a celebratory dinner and we would love for you to come!

🍽️ Dinner in Fishers, Indiana

We will head to Fishers (about 45 minutes from Muncie) for a celebratory dinner. Many Muncie restaurants cannot accommodate large parties on graduation day, so Fishers gives us a better experience and better prices.

📅 Please RSVP for dinner by April 25th so we can confirm the restaurant reservation. We will share the exact location once we have the headcount. The more the merrier, we just need to know you're coming!

Completely understand if you can't make it! With the 4 PM EST ceremony and the 3+ hour drive from Gary, we know it may not work for everyone. Please still celebrate Dani by leaving her a video message below! 💛

Leave Dani a Video Message

Your love and words still matter so much. Leave Dani a personal video message and we will make sure she sees every single one.
